Growing...Growing...Green!!

It seems like everything is finally starting to take off around here growing-wise. Being higher up in the mountains, we are a ways behind all of the 'low-landers' with blooming and growing. Case in point - my irises that were planted last year around this time haven't bloomed quite yet - the flowers are there and they are getting ready to! Logan got those for me for my birthday last year and they were planted late so they didn't bloom -this will be the first year I get to see what color they turned out! Fun!

This morning was so nice and sunny, we started hardening off the tomato and pepper plants that have been repotted from the greenhouse. They have been repotted for some time but we have avoided putting them out because the wind is terrible a lot of days and unpredictable. We are starting just putting them out for a few hours today and will gradually build up to having them out all the time and some are ready to go in the ground once they adjust to being 'outside plants'.

I found this super neat strawberry pot at Joanne's Fabrics last weekend and debated whether to use it as a strawberry pot or pot neat flowers in it but Lowe's was having such a good deal on strawberries that I got a pot of them and divided them up - three on the bottom and - look! I already have 'future' strawberries coming! It isn't going to be a ton but Logan isn't a big strawberry person so they will be fine for me! I did put a marigold in the top - hopefully to ward off some of the strawberry-loving buggies!

Even Jetta is getting in on the greenery action! She is adjusting much better finally and Logan has been riding her around about every other night and working on her manners the other nights. She might even be able to go for an 'outside' ride soon - gee, I would love to ride my horse - very convenient that Logan bought another horse for him to ride - haha. Daisy will have to be my trail buddy for awhile I suppose until Jetta is 'wife ready' :)

Note - SOL from the previous post stands for 'Standards of Learning' - not the other s.o.l. - although for some that is a more appropriate acronym.
