Country Mouse

Let me just say how glad I am that I don't live in the city. Logan and I took a quick and impromptu trip to Raleigh yesterday. Yes, I said Raleigh - as in North Carolina. Yes, I am aware I live in south-western Virginia and that should not be considered a day trip! Logan had to go for a class down there and we went and spent the night with my Cary friend Becca Wednesday night. The trip was last minute - Logan was told he was going on Tuesday so I asked off for work and went down with him.

While he was in class I spent the day shopping but didn't come home with too much. I did score an AWESOME deal at Linen-n-Things - a bookshelf that was $80 I got for $30 -woo hoo! I have been looking for a neat shelf to put plants on since I didn't have any window sills like I have before. This has worked out very nicely -

I am sure I am going to come home and Gabby will be sitting at the very top eating one of my plants - note the ragged peace lily in the striped pot. Cat attack...

Now, back to the city. Rush hour - what the heck? Logan had to be to his class at 8:00 so we left early to avoid the rush/psycho hour. Isn't the whole reason cities have huge 1 million lane roads is to avoid this? Um, no. I got stuck in it going back to Becca's and let me say - my palms were sweating while driving. I was certain someone was going to ram me like you see in police chases and send me spinning off into the median. Yikes. What makes people so crazy to get to work? If they are in such a hurry maybe they should leave like 20 minutes earlier? Huh? Is that such a crazy idea?
It made me very glad to drive to work and take my time this morning and the only time I get stressed out is if I get stuck behind a tractor first thing in the morning. Gosh I love the country...

Oh - and I was almost attacked by a pack (flock?) of man-eating Canada geese while I was there too. I went to my most favorite store - World Market - while I was shopping and as I pulled in to the parking lot this whole group of geese were just standing there in the middle of the parking spaces... They did not move... They took their time... They waited for me to move... I was scared to get out of the car...

He told me he was going to eat me. I swear.

LOVE the shelf! Glad you found what you had been looking for! YEA! Did you have a 20% of coupon to use? I think you can still take your reciept back and use one. Anyway, glad you found World Market, and the geese made me laugh!!!!! Love you
